Put your best business card forward!

You want your business card to stand out from the crowd, right? To grab people’s attention, so they’ll stop and really look at it, read it, and understand what you and/or your company are about. You hope they don’t just chuck it in the trash as soon as they leave, so you need your business card to be a fantastic, eye-catching representation of your business, one that people will want to keep for future reference or referrals.

Certainly all of these objectives can be met with a well-designed 2-inch by 3.5-inch card,  but why settle for ordinary? If you want a business card that is extraordinary, then consider the following “embellishments”:

2-inch square business card, with rounded die-cut corners

  • UNUSUAL SHAPE OR SIZE: The vast majority of business cards are 2″x3.5″, so a non-traditional size will easily stand out from the crowd. Some less common options are a 2″x2″ square card, a 2″ round card, or a traditional 2″x3.5″ card with die-cut corners.
  • UNIQUE PAPER: You don’t have to settle for plain white matte or gloss paper; choose a paper that works well for your business (for example, recycled brown paper for a nature or environmental company, or iridescent paper for a wedding planner).
  • SPECIALTY PRINTING TECHNIQUES: To add even more oomph to your card, incorporate metallic foil, metallic ink, thermography (raised ink), embossing, or debossing.

The right combination of these effects can take a plain ol’ business card and make it exceptional!
