I don’t know about you, but I LOVE COLOR. Seeing bright, beautiful, bold colors in my surroundings not only makes me happy, but also inspires me to experiment with color in my work.
When choosing colors for myself, I tend to go for cool colors like blue and pink; however, when designing for a client, I will use either their company colors, a set of colors they’ve selected for the project, or whichever colors are appropriate for their business, industry, and message. For example, when designing for an entity such a law firm, real estate company, or accounting business, I would select a neutral or desaturated color palette of grays, blues, or greens − shades that convey professionalism and trust. On the flip side, when designing for a business such as a salon or spa, I would use calming, pretty, and/or playful colors like sage green, golden yellow, and pink. It all depends on the company and the image they want to project.
Regardless of whether I’m working on a client project or crafting in my free time, I’m a color-loving individual. The photos here are of my personal craft supplies, and while you could say that the craft stores (a.k.a. Michaels and Hobby Lobby) suckered me into buying them, I really like having them on hand for inspiration and for those last-minute ideas (like making a friendship bracelet to match an outfit or for a particular holiday).
